Deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains lies a large pottery and arts community centered around Penland School of Crafts, an art education mecca. The top artists around the world come here to teach and create a variety of mediums including: ceramics, glass, steel, wood, photogrpahy, lithography, and textiles (just to name a few.)
I took a ceramics class here for a week during high school and it showed me "living art", or what it's like to live, eat, and sleep art. What a refreshing experience! I return whenever I'm in the area and am always excited to see what's new and happening.
