Hinge Texture :: New Orleans, Louisiana :: © 2005 Patrick Esmonde
Hinge Texture  Another textural image that has such a depth and range of colors, I can look at it up close and still find more hues and shades.

New Orleans Architecture 15 :: New Orleans, Louisiana :: © 2005 Patrick Esmonde
New Orleans Architecture 15  This house was in the Lower Garden District along the street that we rode in and out of town. "Quaint" was the first word that came to my head when I saw it. Who can resist a purple house?
Sideways Glass Etching :: New Orleans, Louisiana :: © 2005 Patrick Esmonde
Sideways Glass Etching  This was taken on the side of a large piece of etched glass on display in the National Park office in the French Quarter. It was a map of the region and the main water systems. I passed by and the light caught my eye. You should have seen the look on the park rangerīs face when she saw me focusing my camera on the "wrong" side of the glass.
Multi-colored Bricks :: New Orleans, Louisiana :: © 2005 Patrick Esmonde
Multi-colored Bricks  This wall was outside the entrance to a National Park museum in the French Quarter. This image should be printed large so that all of the detail can be seen. At full resolution, even the grout has some great color.

New Orleans Architecture 10 :: New Orleans, Louisiana :: © 2005 Patrick Esmonde
New Orleans Architecture 10  A great door and window pair that speak to the inside and outside nature of any object. On the inside it could all be new and alive while the outside leaves the viewer with a sense of decay. The only life in these are the color.

New Orleans Architecture 06 :: New Orleans, Louisiana :: © 2005 Patrick Esmonde
New Orleans Architecture 06  The yellow-painted brick balcony was surrounded by muted reds and browns. This balcony was going to have a voice that it wanted everyone to hear! I am merely the medium through which its passion is pronounced.
