Celebración De San Judas Tadeo :: Mexico City, México :: © 2005 Patrick Esmonde
Celebración De San Judas Tadeo  At the Temple of San Hipólito on the 28th of each month (and especially in November) huge crowds gather to pray to Saint Judas Tadeo, "the protective lord of the impossible causes, the patients and the rebellious children who have turned aside their way to the vices". I only passed by the festival and didn´t have time to stop in, but I hear it is quite a party.

Alien Triathlete :: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania :: © 2005 Patrick Esmonde
Alien Triathlete  The colors of the goggles are not fabricated. I removed the color around them for emphasis. I also like how her fingers make it look like she has some sort of ribbed nose structure. This is certainly my way of passively-aggressively saying that I think triathletes are a strange bunch.

Padre Y Hija :: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania :: © 2004 Patrick Esmonde
Padre Y Hija  The Japanese House and Garden (Shofuso) is one of the most notable and unusual attractions in Philadelphia.

This shoin-zukuri (desk-centered) house, built in 16th century style, is located on the grounds of the Horticultural Center in the West Philadelphia section of Fairmount Park. The perfectly proportioned architecture of the main structure and adjoining tea house is enhanced by an ornamental garden and picturesque pond.

Boardwalk Pier 1  This photo was taken right before the July 4th fireworks were to start. You can see people camped on the beach in anticipation.
Trombone Catching :: Lima, Perú :: © 2004 Patrick Esmonde
Trombone Catching  I loved watching these kids trying to catch the slider of this trombone. When the musician saw the kids lacking a little interest, he would lower the slider just within reach, and then when they jumped at it, he would raise it up again.
´da Sound Guys :: Somerville, New Jersey :: © 2004 Patrick Esmonde
'da Sound Guys  This was a 10-second exposure in front of a dance floor. They stood as still as they could (and did a good job) to make this picture a cool image without any manipulation.
