Visible Rain Study 1  Not a common sight in the northeast at all, this is a storm that you can see in action. The rain is in the lower quarter of this image, with the rest of the cloud expanding upwards. The area that it was raining in was about the size of a baseball diamond.

Badlands Thunderstorm  Although the day started off nice and clear, these clouds pulled in out of nowhere and dumped a huge amount of rain on the Badlands. We drove straight through it and also found its effects at our tent site later that night. Apparently, our tent was one of the only tents that weathered the storm and did not fly away.
