Grand Canyon Np 21

Location:

Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona  The Grand Canyon captured my voice and thoughts as its vast and profound enormity swallowed me whole. I climbed over the fences and simply sat at the edge of the canyon, letting my senses be saturated with the depth and breadth of this eroding masterpiece. I toured around the North Rim for a few hours, then set out for a 2-mile hike into the canyon along the North Kaibab Trail. As I slowly descended into the valley, the layered canyon walls rose high above me and I experienced the grandeur from another perspective. It also allowed me to be apart of something else very common to the area: violent electrical storms. On the hike back up, it started to rain heavily and the lightning was striking closer and closer every minute. I took shelter under a rock overhang and watched this storm pile through the canyon, seeing and feeling its raw power all around.
